Jeanine De Bique

2026/2027

With her sights set beyond the horizon, Jeanine De Bique moved from Trinidad to New York in her early twenties. Two decades later, the soprano is touring the globe with Mozart and Handel as her permanent companions, as well as a clear commitment to guide her. She brings together the old masters of European classical music and her Caribbean heritage. With the American ensemble Apollo’s Fire, for instance, she combines Vivaldi’s virtuosity with Rameau and traditional Caribbean songs. She also performs the beautiful song cycle Honey and Rue alongside the BNO. From September, De Bique will shine at La Monnaie in the title role of Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette and in a recital alongside Aäron Wajnberg.
